A new year and a new job...never a dull moment in Maryland. I had today off so what did I do? Alaska Airlines was having a hiring event here in Boise for Reservations Sales Agents for thier call center. I went because I have been yearning for a full time job with benefits for awhile now. I'm glad I did because after eleven hours and two interviews, I landed a job. I will start training later this month and after a month of employment Jim, Gavin, and I can fly for free where ever Alaska flies. I'll have strange hours and days at first (they go by seniority), but hey, I'm ready, willing, and able. My sister-in-law Judy just retired from Alaska Airlines after putting in twentyeight years. Watching her work hard and enjoying flying her family all over the world (including me), well, I'm excited about this new challenge and adventure. You never know where the road in life is going to lead you!

Life is too funny. I finally made it to your blog and what great news, even for those of us who know how hard Judy had to work at AK Air. Maybe it won't be as bad, cause her family really DID benefit enormously from her suffering and sacrifices.
The new hardwood floors are really beautiful! I want that in my gertee. How much for 160 sq feet of it? Can you guys fly up and give me an estimate? hehe

yeah Judy...I remeber all those trades where you forgot to schedule sleep hours between the time you got home and had to be back at work! would you recommend Mary starts telling Jimmy how great his deep fried turkeys are? or how much she loves the way he cooks so many delicious dishes that Gavin adores..

CONGRADULATIONS! I haven't been on your site for awhile now and I wanted to post an event that is coming up in Boise on Jan. 26th. I put it on Jims site but I'm not sure he reads his blog on a regular basis.
I am so happy for you! You never know where life takes you. I'm sure you will like your new job. You are a people person and can handle the awful people that you will have to deal with. Judy did...with a smile on her face! I've watched her. I was in the terminal one day when she had to deal with a rather famous dog sledder that was being an asshole. She stood her ground and made the woman stick to the rules. I was amazed.
Now you will have good insurance for you and your family!!! So important nowdays! I'm sure Jim is happy too!!!
Thanks everyone! I'm very excited to start work. The January class filled up so I'm going to start training Feb 19th. That's okay with me...time to study (there is a test first day of training) and time off before I start full time.
