Mom and Dave are in town. Gavin is out of town on a friends sailboat in McCall. Lucky him and lucky us! We get to eat meat (without feeling guilty). These are pictures of grilled brats with peppers and onions, pea salad, homemade Sangria, and Daves reaction to the homemade Sangria. We are having a lot of fun hangin out with them this holiday weekend.

Looks great Mare! I'm so glad you are having fun and it looks like the weather is beautiful in Boise.

Glad you got to enjoy your brats gilt free. You've got to be eating alot healthier when Gavin is around. Have you ever hear of Quinoa (keen-wah)? It's a nutty flavor grain that has all 8 amino acids. I've just learned of it and made a great salad that all 3 of you would like. Let me know if your interested and I'll post it on the family web.

Hi Judy,

Yes, I've discovered the quinoa grain in my many searches for vegan recipes. I would love your recipe too. I like it and it is very filling. Dave and Mom left yesterday morning and Gavin got home last night. It was a nice weekend. Miss you.

Be sure to rinse the quinoa real good before cooking.

We enjoyed the holiday with you guys. Missed Gavin but will see him later this summer. Had a nice trip home.

I like it here in Pahrump more and more each day. It's cooler as we have lotsa shade trees. The door has been open since 8am. Sometimes the air comes on but that's OK.

My tomato plants are doing so-so. Bought some poles and today will tie the plants up. Can't wait for tomatoes!

I can't get on the family blog as it says my password is wrong. I think it might have something to do with changing to AT&T wireless. Nothing else has change. I got an e-mail from them but I didn't want to type in all those numbers. At least I have internet service now. It's pretty fast too!
