Rollin on the River...

I rode along the river today. I only made it three miles before I turned around. The wind was blowing hard and very cold. There were a few fisherman along the way trying to catch some steelhead. I know the soup picture doesn't look that great but it was delicious! I made it with 1% milk and it was incredibly creamy AND, we can have it again tonight.

Hi Mary,

Turkey soup sounds great. I might buy one just to have leftovers. We did have a nice turkey dinner with the stuff you sent with us. Made bean soup with the ham! Thanks again.

It's been windy down here too. Not used to the cold.

Took us about 12 hours to get home. Going thru Salt Lake is about 150 miles further than going up 93. Now we know. Dave drove the whole way except for about 15 minutes that I drove. I mostly slept!

I finally ventured out today. It takes time to recoup after being gone. Went to Costco and Albertsons. I'm pretty much stocked up now so I won't have to shop again for a week at least. But I need the exercise!

I mailed Kathy's coat on Monday and will arrive by 5pm Wed. I checked her blog today and she's added nothing since before they left for Calif. I hope everything is OK.

We enjoyed our holiday with you guys even if it was short. The trip cost under $100 in gas. Love that little car!

Nordica said she will be here for xmas. Maybe bring Niki along. She's flying to San Diego to a friends. Her friend will drive here for xmas and a few days. I'm looking forward to seeing her/them. I haven't seen Nordica for several years. I'm glad she has a cell phone so I can get ahold of her when I need to.

Hugs to you...Jim...& Gavin

Hi Mom,

I'm glad you made it home safe and sound. I'm sure you and Dave are exhausted. Thanks for making the trip. I will mail your jacket to you today. Much Love, Mary
