Well, Jim is the latest victim of a bad economy. He has been laid off for the winter. He has a great attitude though and plans on working around the house getting some more projects off his list of things to do. My job seems to be secure. I will be working Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after. What a switch in roles. We are very thankful though for too many things to list here.

Oh, dear. So sorry to hear about Jim's (temporary, we hope) layoff. Glad to hear that your job is secure and hope Jim is back at work sooner rather than later.

I remember when Paddy was laid off from a job, then called back a few weeks later when they realized all he had been doing that no one else could do. He went back as a consultant making more money. This could happen with Jim. Our fingers are crossed.

Dang; I hate that kind of bad news. As Nan said, I’ve felt the sting of that experience myself. Let’s just hope there is opportunity somewhere in that dark cloud, including unemployment benefits for the duration.

Sounds like you are going to be busy on the holidays. Keep on trucking; we are keeping you all in our hearts, here and when we are on the road.

This could be a blessing in disguise (as troubles often times are) - and Jim is such a go-getter and optimistic soul, I just know something good will come of it. Give him a big hug for me - and you hang in there Mare - that sounds like quite a work load.

Love you,
Marty
